El vinilo en cifras
Cifras del mercado del vinilo, tomadas del organismo sectorial que publica cada una, con el año y el tipo de medición. No son intercambiables: un país informa de lo que se envió, otro de lo vendido en caja y un tercero de los ingresos contabilizados por los sellos. Sumarlas produce una cifra sin significado, el error más habitual en este tema.
Esta página está deliberadamente incompleta. Las filas aparecen cuando alguien ha abierto la fuente y confirmado tanto la cifra como lo que mide; todo lo que sigue sin verificar figura al final, en lugar de rellenarse con una fuente secundaria.

Por qué estas cifras no se pueden comparar directamente
Cada organismo nacional mide algo distinto, y el vocabulario lo oculta. RIAA publica ingresos mayoristas de envíos: discos que salieron de un distribuidor, los comprara alguien o no. BVMI publica Handelsumsatz, la facturación del comercio minorista. SNEP publica el chiffre d'affaires contabilizado por los sellos. RIAJ publica la producción: cuántos discos se fabricaron. Decir que "el vinilo alemán creció más rápido que el estadounidense" compara ventas en caja con envíos de fábrica.
