About this record
The dead-wax matrix on all four sides reads 4AD0302LP with MASTERDISK BF, confirming mastering at Masterdisk in Peekskill, New York in June 2020. This 4AD pressing is 100% analog-analog-analog (AAA) — no digital process touched the recording, mixing, or mastering chain.
The gatefold jacket and custom inner sleeve are standard to the format, but the first 100 vinyl pre-orders included a signed 12"x12" double-sided lithograph art print, making early copies distinguishable from later retail stock.
What drives its value
Condition drives the entire market spread on this 2020 4AD release. A Mint copy trades at 58.98 USD, while a VG+ sits at 40.36 USD and a VG at 27.94 USD — a steep drop across the grades.
The lowest asking price across 37 active listings is 23.8 USD, well below the VG estimate, reflecting the high supply relative to demand: 8887 collectors own it against 3437 who want one. The 4.68 community rating from 627 votes confirms broad appeal, but the want-to-have ratio of roughly 2 to 5 suggests this is not a scarcity play.
Original 4AD pressings from 2020 hold their value better than later reissues because the AAA mastering and gatefold presentation were never repeated.
How to appraise this pressing
Verify the catalogue number 4AD0302LP on the spine and label. Check all four sides of the dead wax for the matrix 4AD0302LP A/B/C/D MASTERDISK BF — this confirms the Masterdisk mastering plant in Peekskill and rules out bootlegs or unauthorized pressings.
The barcode should be present on the back cover. Inspect the gatefold jacket for the 17-19 Alma Road London and 134 Grand St, New York addresses printed on the inner flap, and confirm the custom inner sleeve is present.
The copyright line reads ℗©2020 Adrianne Lenker under exclusive license to 4AD Limited. Grade by surface noise and groove wear: Mint means unplayed; NM allows only light handling marks; VG+ shows light surface noise in quiet passages; VG exhibits moderate noise but music remains clear.
The 13-track sequence and total runtime are consistent across all pressings of this title.

Frequently asked
What is the dead-wax matrix on this pressing?
All four sides carry the matrix 4AD0302LP A/B/C/D MASTERDISK BF. The MASTERDISK BF suffix indicates mastering at Masterdisk in Peekskill, New York in June 2020. This matrix is the fingerprint of the original 4AD pressing and does not appear on later reissues.
How much is a VG+ copy worth?
The price guide values a VG+ copy at 40.36 USD as of the guide date. However, the lowest asking price across 37 active listings is 23.8 USD, showing that real-world sales often undercut the estimate. Condition variation and seller urgency explain the gap.
Was this recorded and mastered entirely analog?
Yes. The release notes explicitly state this vinyl is 100% analog-analog-analog (AAA). Recording took place from April 22 to May 23rd, 2020 in a one-room pine cabin in Westhampton, Massachusetts. Mixing occurred at Figure 8 Recording in Brooklyn, New York at the end of May, and mastering at Masterdisk in Peekskill in June. No digital process was used.
Did the first pressings include anything extra?
The first 100 vinyl pre-orders came with a signed 12"x12" double-sided lithograph art print. A limited run of the same unsigned print was also distributed via independent record stores. Later pressings do not include either print, making early copies more collectible.
What is a Mint copy worth compared to VG?
A Mint copy is priced at 58.98 USD, while a VG copy is valued at 27.94 USD. The spread reflects the premium for unplayed condition and the steep depreciation once a record enters circulation. Of 8887 collectors who own this title, demand from 3437 who want one remains modest, so condition premiums are meaningful but not extreme.
