The Yardbirds – For Your Love

About this record

The dead wax carries XSB110570 and XSB110571 with a Pitman plant mark, so this is a Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman pressing rather than anything cut elsewhere. Epic issued the US stereo LP as BN 26167 in 1965, and the record's 11 tracks sit on a sleeve that prints the band's name as "The Yard-Birds" while the label reads "The Yardbirds".

Demand is steady: 688 collectors want the copy against 960 who already own one.

What drives its value

On the price guide, the spread runs from 7.98 for a P copy up to 151.64 for an M copy, with the VG+ estimate at 103.75 and the VG estimate at 71.83, all in USD. Nine copies are listed at the lowest price of 9.00, with 29 copies for sale in total, so supply is thin enough that grade decides the sale.

The community figures of 960 owners and 688 wanted copies show buyers chasing the record, and its 4.46 rating from 102 raters adds weight to that interest. Release notes state that the BN-prefix Epic Yardbirds stereo albums are re-channeled rather than true stereo, which caps the price of this copy against any true stereo pressing.

The other_pressings data supplied gives no positional comparison, so no original-versus-reissue premium can be claimed from these facts.

How to appraise this pressing

Confirm the catalogue number BN 26167 on the spine and label, then check that the Epic label reads "The Yardbirds" as the release notes describe. The dead wax should show XSB110570 or XSB110571, and the matrix suffixes XSB110570-1D P and XSB110571-1A P identify the Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman stamping.

The sleeve should print the band name as "The Yard-Birds" on the cover. Count 11 tracks on the label and back cover.

Grade the disc under light, looking for surface wear that drops it from VG+ toward VG, and treat a copy that cannot show these marks as unverified.
