Victrola Journey parts, in 3D
Take the Victrola Journey apart in 3D, check which replacement needle fits your Journey, and follow the setup from the manual on the model.
3D model made by VinylAI from the layout drawings in the maker's manual. Proportions are approximate; no logos are shown.
- Covers the Victrola Journey family: Journey (VSC-550BT), Journey+ (VSC-400SB, with the VSC-450SB Signature, the VSC-500SB and the VSC-500BTC Cassette), Journey II (VSC-600SB) and Journey Glow (VSC-700SB). Victrola's needle chart gives all of them the same stylus; their Bluetooth and speakers differ.
Replacement parts
Not for players whose serial number starts with "SAM", or the White Canvas model with retro stickers (VSC-550BT / VSC-400SB): Victrola says the ITNP-S1 does not fit those, and names no alternative.

What goes wrong
None of the Journey manuals has a troubleshooting table. These are the notes in them that explain a silent record:
| Symptom | Cause | What to do | Manual |
|---|---|---|---|
| Journey II or Glow: no sound from the record. | The player is in Vinylstream (Bluetooth out) mode. | Turn the function knob back to vinyl mode. | Journey II VSC-600SB manual, PDF p. 3 |
| The built-in speakers go quiet. | Headphones are plugged in. | Unplug the headphones. | Journey VSC-550BT manual, p. 6 |
| Journey+: BT OUT plays nothing from the phone. | BT OUT only sends the record. | Use the BT setting to play a phone through the speakers. | Journey+ VSC-400SB manual, p. 6 |
Set up the Journey
The setup from the Journey manuals, step by step on the model. Play these steps on the 3D model →
- Unpack and free the arm. Remove the packing, including the twist tie on the tonearm. Take the stylus cover off by pulling it toward the front of the player.
- Connect the power. Plug the 5 V adaptor into DC IN on the back, then into the wall.
- Open the lid. Lift the buckle on the front and open the lid.
- Switch on in PHONO. Turn the function knob to PHONO, then turn the volume knob clockwise to switch on. A red light comes on.
- Record on, set the speed. Put the record on the platter and set the speed switch to 33⅓, 45 or 78. For 45s, use the adapter from its holder near the arm.
- Lower the arm. Open the arm clip, push the lift lever back to raise the arm, move it over the record and push the lever forward to lower it. With auto-stop on, the platter starts when the arm moves over the record.
Replacing the stylus (manuals and the ITNP sheet): push the stylus tip down, pull it out forward, then insert the rear edge of the new one and push it up until it locks.
Check that the Journey turns at the right speed with our printable strobe disc.
Does the Journey need a protractor?
No. The Journey has no step for mounting or aligning a cartridge: the factory sets where the stylus sits. An alignment protractor is for turntables where you fit the cartridge yourself.
