About this record

Queen's 1980 album "The Game" is a landmark release in the band's discography, showcasing a blend of pop rock and classic rock styles. This UK pressing, released on the EMI label, is particularly sought after by collectors for its historical significance and musical impact.

Featuring 10 tracks, this vinyl LP captures the band's evolving sound during a pivotal era. Collectors often seek this specific pressing due to its authentic UK origin and the absence of a barcode, which helps date the release to the early 1980s.

The record's classic rock credentials and its place within Queen's catalog make it a prized addition for enthusiasts of rock vinyl and fans of the band alike.

How to appraise this pressing

To verify this specific UK pressing of "The Game," collectors should look for the EMI label and catalogue numbers EMA 795, OC 064-63 923, or EMA 795 (I) on the vinyl. The presence of runout etchings in the vinyl's dead wax area is another key identifier of authenticity.

Since this pressing does not have a barcode, it aligns with early 1980 releases before barcodes became standard. Condition plays a crucial role in the record's desirability, with attention to both media and sleeve grades.

Clean, scratch-free vinyl and a well-preserved sleeve without ring wear or seam splits significantly enhance appeal. Value is driven by the pressing's origin, condition, and demand from collectors of classic rock and Queen memorabilia.
